MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
UC Irvine def. PrincetonIRVINE — Senior outside hitter Jayson Jablonsky set the UCI school record for service aces in the Anteaters’ 30-26, 30-18, 30-18 nonconference win Tuesday at Crawford Court.
Jablonsky now has 98 career aces, surpassing Jimmy Pelzel’s mark of 96 from 2001-04. Matt Webber hit .892 with 16 kills against Princeton, with the hitting percentage the seventh-best single match mark in Anteaters’ history.
Setter Ryan Ammerman had a career-best 13 assists and a team-high three blocks for the Anteaters (10-1), who travel to No. 1 BYU on Friday at 6 p.m. PST in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Vanguard 96, Cal Baptist 81RIVERSIDE — Junior guard Jessica Richter poured in 38 points, including seven three-pointers, to lead the No. 1-ranked and undefeated Lions to a Golden State Athletic Conference win Tuesday at Cal Baptist.
Melissa Cook had 20 points and eight assists off the bench for Vanguard (17-0, 12-0 in conference), which won its 50th straight regular-season game.
Senior center Rachel Besse had 15 rebounds for the Lions. Erin Greenberg had 23 points for Cal Baptist (13-8, 5-7).

PING tournamentTUCSON, Ariz. — The Anteaters finished fifth in the Arizona Intercollegiate tournament at the Arizona National Golf Club Tuesday.
UC Irvine finished with a score of even par 842 in the 54-hole, 16-team tournament, three strokes behind third-place Arizona. UNLV won with a score of 829.
Anteaters senior Brian Edick was the low scorer on the team, finishing fifth with a seven-under 206 (68-68-71) on the par-71 course.
