Man with car-detail business is arrested

A self-employed auto detailer who has several clients in the Harbor View Homes neighborhood has been arrested twice on suspicion of stolen or misappropriated property.
Newport Beach police say the investigation of Adrin Eudave, 33, of Corona, is ongoing.
Eudave was first stopped on Thursday in Newport Beach while driving a vehicle when police found an open container in the car, Newport Beach Police Sgt. Evan Sailor said. When they searched his vehicle, they found checks belonging to someone else. Eudave was arrested on suspicion of misappropriation of property — police weren’t sure of his relation to the victim at that point, Sailor said — and released on $500 bail.
Police learned the victim was a client of Eudave’s car-wash service, Sailor said. As a result they began investigating him.
“Some of [his clients] have been the victims of various crimes,” he said. “So we went back to talk to him.”
On Monday, police found Eudave doing a job in Newport Beach, so they searched him and found a credit card belonging to another client. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and taken to Newport Beach jail, where he posted $20,000 bail, Sailor said.
Sailor added that police have not searched Eudave’s residence in Corona.
“This is a continuing investigation,” he said. “We have two confirmed victims, but we’re still looking into this.”
Eudave has not yet been arraigned, said Farrah Emami, a spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney’s office. The district attorney’s office is reviewing a report from Newport Beach police and has not yet decided on what, if any, charges it may bring against Eudave.
Since Eudave has posted bail, his arraignment may not occur for a few weeks as police investigate and prosecutors review evidence.
