CHAMPAGNE AND CAVIAR
A Flame Point Siamese and Tortoiseshell Siamese named Champagne, left, and Caviar, right, were rescued from a trash bin in Newport Beach last week.
The pair were scanned for microchips and treated for a severe amount of fleas, and have been to a veterinarian.
A tiny nonsurgical microchip implant would have proved ownership and returned the 6-month-old female kittens to their original homes.
Champagne and Caviar will be available for adoption at Fashion Island from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Community Animal Network seeks a weekend “Adoption Manager” and several others to help during the week with the Website and paperwork. For more information, call (949) 759-3646. To make a contribution, send a check — with the tax identification number 33-0971560 — to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
