Jewish reform congregation to hold Shabbat tonight

Congregation Kol HaNeshamah, a Jewish Reform/Renewal Congregation, will hold Shabbat Sservices at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive in Laguna Beach.

Kol HaNeshamah means “voice of the soul.” The congregation reaches out to diverse families and all who are looking for a place to give voice to their spirits in a small, friendly and informal group.

Services are offered with Rabbi Rafael Goldstein once or twice a month, plus holiday celebrations, family education and religious school. Oneg follows service.

Habitat to break ground in San Juan Capistrano

Habitat for Humanity is breaking ground on a new project in San Juan Capistrano on Friday, and members of the Laguna Presbyterian Church will be participating.

Many of the homes to be built will be for disabled veterans. A carpool will leave from the church parking lot on Third Street at 9 a.m.
