Breakers’ road match canceled

PHILADELPHIA ? The Newport Beach Breakers were kept from capturing their third consecutive win on Tuesday, because their match against the Philadelphia Freedom was canceled due to inclement weather. The Freedom held a 2-1 lead in the first set of the match when it was stopped.
The teams are scheduled to make up the match July 20 in Philadelphia.
Pete Sampras was scheduled to play for the Breakers (4-4), who are on a five-match road trip.
The Breakers are in fourth place in the Western Conference. Philadelphia is in third place in the Eastern Conference.
Newport Beach will take on the New York Sportimes tonight before heading back to Philadelphia.
