OBITUARY

PHYLLIS REUBER

A memorial service is scheduled Monday in Corona del Mar for Phyllis Reuber, a longtime Newport Beach resident.

Born in Fontana, Reuber had lived in Newport for 27 years and was known as the “cake lady” for the cakes she made for weddings, birthdays and other occasions. She died Tuesday of complications of an internal infection. She was 54.

Reuber is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Reuber; two sons, Derek W. Sanders and Joseph Reuber Jr.; two daughters, Keri Altobelli and Nicole Foster; brothers Robert and Scott Young; sisters Mary Ann Rizzaro, Isabel Love and Karuna Fulmor; and 11 grandchildren.

A service will be held at noon Monday in the chapel at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar. Donations in Phyllis Reuber’s honor can be made to the Pat Altobelli Memorial Fund, c/o Orange Coast College Foundation/baseball, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
