Eagles’ golfers enter yet another busy week

You can say this much about the Estancia High boys’ golf team. It doesn’t get a lot of downtime.

Since the beginning of the season, the Eagles have played 10 matches and two tournaments. Last week, they played host to their own tournament at Mesa Verde Country Club on Monday, then played matches Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Compared to that, this week’s schedule is easier. A little bit.

Estancia opens the week on Tuesday with a match against crosstown rival Costa Mesa at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club. The next day, it’s off to Santa Ana Country Club for a rematch with Newport Harbor, which defeated the Eagles earlier this season.

Just don’t think Coach Art Perry’s team is settling down by any means. After all, there’s still a weeklong trip to South Carolina for a national tournament coming up.
