GTC Telecom goes wireless

A Costa Mesa telecommunications company is changing its name.

GTC Telecom, a nationwide provider of wireless and long-distance services, is now GTC Wireless. Shareholders approved the deal Friday.

The name change signifies the shift in the telecommunications industry away from long distance to wireless technologies, Chief Executive S. Paul Sandhu said.

“Since the launch of our GTC Wireless product at the end of 2005, our company has experienced a rebirth of enthusiasm and customer interest,” he said in a news release.

The company plans to continue its product line and rate structure but will introduce a new company logo.
