Chamber hosts State of City lunch

Mayor Elizabeth Pearson-Schneider will deliver a State of the City address, and city officials will update the community on their activities, at a networking luncheon sponsored by the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, March 7.

Also attending the luncheon will be Police Chief Michael Sellers, Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Latendresse, Director of Marine Safety Mark Klosterman, and Public Works Director Steve May.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tivoli Too!, 777 Laguna Canyon Road. Tickets at the door: $25 for members, $30 for non-members. Information: (949) 494-1018.

Business Exchange hosts McNair

Sharon McNair will address the Coastal Business Exchange at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Jolly Roger restaurant, 400 S. Coast Highway.

McNair, a longtime resident of Laguna Beach, served as Outreach/Social Worker at Laguna Beach Seniors, Inc. for over nine years. She is now the director of Sharon McNair Senior Services, Inc, a Geriatric Care Management Service. All are welcome at this meeting.

The Coastal Business Exchange is a private, members-only group of business owners and professionals. The group meets weekly and features speakers on a variety of topics.

Donate food at Curves benefit

Curves fitness center, 1100 S. Coast Highway, No. 301C, is hosting a “Drop 10 Pounds” food and fund drive through March 31 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

The goal is to collect a combination of food and money equal to 50,000 pounds of food. Last year, 47 Curves locations hosted a similar food drive which collected a total of 44,860 pounds of food and staple goods for those in need.

Donations of canned and dried fruit, vegetables, meats, beans and rice can be dropped off at food collection barrels at Curves locations.

Checks may be made out payable to the Second Harvest Food Bank and mailed to: Second Harvest Food Bank, Curves Food Drive, 426-A W. Almond Ave., Orange, CA 92866.
