Costa Mesa Chaos 3, Corona del Mar 0: Cristina Tuer started the scoring with a rocket from 18 yards out. Albamaria Barrios and Steffani Nava each added a goal to complete the scoring.

Costa Mesa Chaos 2, North Irvine 1: In the second game of the day, the Chaos managed a 2-1 victory. After falling behind, 1-0, Albamaria Barrios and Steffani Nava scored their second goals of the day to seal the victory.

Costa Mesa Chaos 1, Newport Beach 1: In the third game of the weekend, Jacqueline Hubbard scored on a shot into the upper corner from 25 yards out for a 1-0 lead. With three minutes remaining, Newport converted a penalty kick to tie the score. The Chaos’ goalkeeping of Elaine Moya and strong defense of Marlene Calderon, Claudia Huerta, Jayme Krohnfeldt, and Cynthia Escalante held three strong opponents to two goals in three games. The midfield of Emily Gruber, Hubbard, Barrios and Amy Heil dominated play, providing additional defensive help and opening up the game for forwards Julyana Bello, Cristina Tuer and Steffani Nava.

Costa Mesa Chaos 3, South Irvine 2: Costa Mesa came out flying and scored first on a shot from 20 yards out by Jacqueline Hubbard. A tough South Irvine team then held the score to a 1-0 lead at halftime. South Irvine dominated the third quarter and scored twice to take a 2-1 lead before Costa Mesa came back in the fourth quarter.

Goalkeeper Elaine Moya -- with the help of a strong defensive effort from Marlene Calderon, Claudia Huerta, Cynthia Escalante and Jayme Krohnfeldt -- closed the door on any more scoring. The midfield of Jacqueline Hubbard, Emily Gruber, Amy Heil and Albamaria Barrios took back control of the game.

Forwards Cristina Tuer, Julyana Bello and Steffani Nava started to spread the South Irvine defense, allowing Hubbard to score her second goal of the game. Nava scored the winning goal with three minutes left.

Costa Mesa finished as the No. 1 seed going into the medal round Saturday. It will face No. 4 Newport Beach in the semifinals, with the winner facing either No. 2 Tustin or No. 3 South Irvine in the championship game.
