OCC blanks Golden West

COSTA MESA -- Orange Coast College’s women’s soccer team scored four goals in the second half to run away with a 7-0 Orange Empire Conference victory over Golden West on Tuesday.
Nichole Huff led the way with two goals. Kara Jenkins, A.J. Sellers, Diana Johnson, Meghann Ord and Kristen Lloyd all added goals for the Pirates.
Lloyd opened the second-half scoring when she took a pass from Christine Crosson and found the back of the net. Huff scored her second goal of the game on an assist by Ashley Boyer. Jenkins tallied her first goal of the season from a sharp angle and Sellers added her first goal of the year to conclude the scoring for the Pirates, who improved to 10-6-4 overall and 10-3-2 in the conference.
Orange Coast concludes the regular season when it hosts Irvine Valley on Friday at 3 p.m.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Vanguard def. Concordia
COSTA MESA-- The Vanguard women won at home Tuesday over Concordia, 30-27, 21-30, 25-30, 31-29, 16-14, in a Golden State Athletic Conference match. Jaclyn Lee led the Lions with 22 kills. Michal Shortridge and Kim Wynn added 20 and 19 kills respectively.
Vanguard improves its record to 22-10 and 9-10 in conference. Saturday, the Lions play their final regular season match at Hope International.
