BALLET ON FILM

The Newport Beach Film Festival and Ballet Pacifica are presenting a sneak preview of the documentary film “Ballets Russes.” The screening, which features a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers and a dancer, is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Island Cinemas, located in Fashion Island at 999 Newport Center Drive.

Ballet Pacifica also is planning a benefit dinner prior to the screening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. For tickets to the dinner, contact Stephanie Colby of Ballet Pacifica at (949) 851-9930, ext. 106. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District and Harbor Council Parent Teacher Assn. hold their 24th annual College Night at the Orange County Fairgrounds Wednesday, and all students and parents are invited. Representatives from more than 120 colleges and universities from around the United States will set up booths and give out pamphlets and information. Certificate schools such as the Fashion Institute and the Culinary Institute, along with all branches of the U.S. military, will also be on hand.

College Night runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in Building 12 at the fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Admission is free. Call (714) 708-1500 for information.
