The American Cetacean Society invites the public to participate in

a dolphin research program Oct. 29. Orientation is at 7:30 p.m. on

SAILING CLASSES

A basic cruising class is offered by Orange Coast College’s School

of Sailing and Seamanship. This course is designed for people who are

seeking basic keelboat certification. Classes will meet from 9 a.m.

to 4 p.m. Saturdays Oct. 29 through Nov. 12 at the college’s sailing

center, 1801 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $239.

A fiberglass repair workshop is offered by Orange Coast College’s

School of Sailing and Seamanship. The workshop is scheduled from 9:30

a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at the college’s sailing center, 1801 West

An alternative to beginning sailing class is offered by the Orange

Coast College School of Sailing and Seamanship. This class is for

students who prefer personalized instruction on a more stable

platform. The first section of the class will meet on Saturdays from

9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 5 through 19; the second will meet on

Sundays at the same time Nov. 6 through 20 at the college’s sailing

center, 1801 West Coast Highway, Newport Beach. Registration is $335.
