Chargers roar past Raiders

The Huntington Beach Chargers complemented a potent offensive game
with tenacious defense and a nearly error-free performance to score a
38-6 victory over the Stanton Raiders in Pop Warner Football Midget
Division action.
Stephan Andrew threw two touchdown passes to Jake Machado and one
to Jeff Trojan, Kaelin Daly rushed for another score, and Alek
Kirshner -- who had a second-half fumble recovery -- scored the final
Chargers’ touchdown.
The Huntington defense also came up with a safety in the first
half.

Gold Chargers 28, Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs 0
The Jr. Pee Wee Gold Chargers continued their season of dominating
play Saturday as they rolled past the Eagles.
Trevor Borkowski rushed for a touchdown, scored on two conversion
runs and intercepted a pass. Ryan Finnie scored on an 11-yard run,
Andrew Michael returned an interception 50 yards for the third
touchdown, and Luke Bosiljevac rushed for the final score.
Thomas Firman had two quarterback sacks, Sam Doxakis came up with
a pair of quarterback sacks and recovered a fumble following a sack
by Michael, and Tyler Odey made a key stop at the Huntington
five-yard line late in the game to preserve the shutout.
Huntington hosts the Cypress Crusaders Saturday in a 9:30 a.m.
battle of unbeaten teams at Edison High.
Mighty Mite Division
Chargers 34, Hacienda/La Puente 0
Robert Rice returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, and the
Mighty Mite Chargers never looked back in rolling to another victory.
Rice also rushed for a touchdown as Huntington ran its record to
5-0.
Steve Hernandez rushed for two touchdowns -- one on a 38-yard run
-- Daylan Heirimeyer rushed for another score, and Shad Harris caught
two point-after conversion passes.
Hernandez also recovered a fumble on a Hacienda Heights/La Puente
kickoff return.
The Mighty Mite Chargers will put their perfect record on the line
Saturday when they host undefeated Santa Margarita at 11 a.m. at
Edison High.
“They are an excellent team with an excellent coach, and we’ll
need to play a perfect game against them,” Mighty Mite Chargers coach
Rick Hernandez said.

Chargers 30, Cypress 12
The Chargers defense limited the Coyotes to just two first downs.
They remain undefeated.
