Group marks anniversary
Marina High School’s Educational Foundation is planning to create a
commemorative tile wall to celebrate the group’s 10-year anniversary
and to raise money for the Marina High campus.
The engraved tiles, which the graduating seniors had the first
opportunity to purchase, will be mounted on a wall outside of the
high school’s gymnasium. Alumni, students, family members and Marina
Vikings supporters are all encouraged to add tiles to the wall.
The educational foundation was founded in 1995 to raise funds for
education-related supplies for students and staff members. In the
past, the foundation was best known for its Viking Cards, which
offered discounts from local businesses.
From its sales during the last decade, the foundation has
purchased furniture, textbooks, field trips, audiovisual equipment,
library magazine subscriptions, remedial programs and also was able
to support freshman orientation.
Wall tiles are available in three sizes: six square inches ($75),
eight square inches ($150) and one square foot ($300). To purchase a
tile, call Debbie Kagawa at (714) 349-3950.
