A’Maree’s hot summer sale starts Saturday. To prepare, the boutique

will be closed Friday.

FREE MUSIC

Since 1967, Fashion Island’s Summer Concert Series has offered

free concerts in an ideal outdoor setting near Bloomingdale’s. The

six-week concert series begins Wednesday. Preferred seating for each

show is available for $20.

The opening night performer will be former Three Dog Night member

Chuck Negron. B.J. Thomas, a five-time Grammy Award winner who has

sold more than 70 million records, will perform on July 20.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Family Stone Experience will

play on July 27, followed by The English Beat frontman Dave Wakeling

on Aug. 3. Super Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band, will perform

on Aug. 10.

The Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band will close out the series on

Aug. 17.

Select Fashion Island restaurants will operate food booths in

Bloomingdale’s courtyard for convenient dining.

Preferred tickets are available through the Fashion Island

concierge. Preferred ticket holders will have access to a no-host

martini and wine bar, with proceeds from the bar going to benefit

Project Independence, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping

developmentally disabled adults in Orange County live and work

independently.

FAIR THEE WELL

Visit the Pacific Amphitheatre today from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. for a

Taste of the Fair. It’s a free celebration to mark the Orange County

Fair’s arrival.

Guests can sample the fair’s food fare, watch fireworks and enjoy

a musical performance.

The fair starts Friday and runs through July 31. It runs Tuesdays

through Thursdays from noon to midnight, and Fridays and Sundays from

10 a.m. to midnight.

Admission is $8 (ages 13 to 59), seniors (60+) $6, children (6 to

12) $4, and children 5 and under are free. Parking costs $5.

Preferred parking costs $10.

Tuesdays are Kids Days, with children ages 12 and under admitted

free. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can buy an unlimited rides

wristband for $20 until 5 p.m. On Thursdays and Fridays, rides cost

$1. There are $10 and $20 Fun Books for multiple tickets.
