The City of Laguna Beach will be sponsoring its annual fireworks
display at approximately 9 p.m. Monday, July 4th from Monument Point
in Heisler Park, Coast Highway at Cliff Dr.
To ensure public safety, the area directly around Monument Point
will be closed all day. At 6 p.m. an extended area 1,000 feet around
Monument Point will be closed to the public.
This also includes the beach below Monument Point.
As a reminder, the Fire Department announces that no fireworks of
any kind are allowed in the City. No fires or portable cooking
devices are allowed on the beach or in any parks.
Permanent barbecues are available in various parks for use by the
public on a first come, first served basis. Tents and canopies cannot
be erected in any of the parks or on the beach.
Those who wish to attend the display are advised to allow ample
time to commute and to find parking as roads will be severely
congested.
Due to this traffic congestion, the City’s trolley system will
cease operating at 6:30 p.m. on July 4th.
Following the fireworks display the Police Department will
establish two lanes of northbound traffic on Laguna Canyon Road to El
Toro Road and the 73 tollway. Although traffic may be slow getting to
Broadway, once there drivers will be able to move out the canyon
quickly.
