Hahn in Senior PGA

Paul Hahn played his first full practice round Tuesday as a member of
the 156-player field for the Senior PGA Championship, which begins
Thursday at Laurel Valley Country Club in Ligonier, Pa.
Hahn, Newport Beach Country Club’s head golf professional,
received a phone call from PGA of America official Susan Martin when
he stepped off a jet in Pittsburgh Sunday night informing the
51-year-old he was in the tournament.
Hahn was first on the alternate list and said he gained the spot
when D.A. Weibring, one of Hahn’s playing partners Tuesday afternoon,
won last weekend’s Bruno’s Memorial Classic.
To Hahn’s understanding, Weibring was already exempt into the
Senior PGA Championship prior to his most recent victory, thereby
opening a spot.
Hahn shot 2-under on the back nine Tuesday and said his swing
feels good.
He tees off at 10 a.m. Pacific time in Thursday’s first round.
