Disrespect is a great disservice

Cristina Guccione

I read in the Daily Pilot about your trip to Sacramento, and I must

say that you couldn’t be more incorrect.

I was raised in Newport Beach for 18 years only then to move to

Sacramento five years ago for college. I interned for state Sen. John

Campbell when he was in the Assembly and now work for Congressman Dan

Lungren.

Sacramento is a wonderful place to explore political opportunities

and receive a top-notch education. Even before the governator graced

our city, this place was a prime piece of real estate.

Maybe you were not as fortunate as most to have someone walk you

through the bars and restaurants as I was, but they definitely do not

close at 10. Horses are not allowed on public streets ... the ones

you saw patrol the capitol, and the strip malls you say exist are

mostly seen from the from the Travel Lodge to Sac International.

Just five minutes from the Capitol is the beautiful American

River, which entertains fisherman, rafters and children on sunny

Saturday afternoons. Our location allows residents to have easy

access to ski Tahoe, gamble in Reno, surf in Santa Cruz and navigate

over the Rubicon.

There was one thing you got right. The people are very friendly

here, unlike the infamous O.C.

Sacramento is a place for people from all areas to unite and

represent this wonderful state we all live in. So before you come

visit my home again, take another look at what you’re leaving behind:

it isn’t that great either.

representative for Congressman Daniel E. Lungren.
