Patricia J. Alderson Former Newport Beach resident...

Patricia J. Alderson

Former Newport Beach resident Patricia Alderson died Feb. 4 of

liver cancer. She was 79.

Born in California, Mrs. Alderson was a homemaker and lived in

Newport Beach for 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Alderson; her daughter,

Cheryl Arp; her son, Randy Alderson; four grandchildren; and four

great grandchildren.

Dana Firey

Former Newport Beach resident Dana Firey died Feb. 9 of lung

cancer. He was 58.

Born in Illinois, Mr. Firey lived in Newport Beach for nine years

and was retired.

He is survived by his son, Atticus Firey; and three grandchildren.

George William Nulle

A memorial service for George William Nulle was held Jan. 31 for

family and friends of the former Newport Beach resident.

Born in Chicago in 1925, Mr. Nulle spent much of his life in

Pasadena, where he lived until moving to Newport Beach in 1971.

Nulle joined the Marines and served in both World War II and the

Korean War. He owned an engineering firm and retired in 1978. Nulle

died Jan. 26 at Hoag Hospital of a heart attack and of complications

of diabetes. He was 79.

Nulle is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Nulle; his son,

Randy Nulle of Bellingham, Wash.; his daughter, Nancy Watson of

Irvine; and three grandsons.

Ralph James Gray

A memorial service was held Jan. 31 for former Newport Beach

resident Ralph James Gray.

Originally from Pasadena, Mr. Gray lived in Newport Beach for 45

years. He was a retired business owner. Mr. Gray died Jan. 25 of

cancer. He was 76.

Mr. Gray is survived by daughters Linda Forsblade, Robin Novak,

Carol Lindvall, Kathy Havelka and Laurie Woodward; six grandchildren;

and one great grandchild.

Charles Mahterian

A memorial service was held Jan. 25 for former Corona del Mar

resident Charles Mahterian.

Born in Detroit, Mr. Mahterian was a former owner of John’s Towing

Service in Costa Mesa. He spent 43 years living in Corona del Mar.

Mahterian died Jan. 18 of pneumonia. He was 69.

He is survived by his brother, Jack Mahterian; his sister, Lucy

Dodge; and his daughter, Debbie Mahterian.
