Rockets triumph

The Eastbluff fourth-grade boys and girls club Rockets basketball

team won their sixth straight game with a 36-32 triumph over the

Mavericks.

Rob Rosenast led the Rockets with 18 points, while Carter

Keddington added six points and seven rebounds. Jeff Lloyd had four

points and eight rebounds, and Amanda Girvin, Weston Wright, Colby

Watson and Grant Brown all also scored.

The Mavericks received solid performances from Bo St. Geme, Tyler

McPhillips and Christopher Von Der Ahe.

CdM advances

* SOCCER: The Corona del Mar Soccer Club boys under-12 team took

the top spot in their pool the first weekend of the State Cup

playoffs at the Lancaster National Soccer Center this past weekend .

CdM won the first game against United Futbol Club, 1-0, followed

by a 3-0 win against Chula Vista Rangers Blue. CdM tied its third

game, 1-1, against Santa Clarita Valley Magic.

Colton Gyulay led CdM in scoring, while Will Morrow, Brent Lawson,

Nick Curci, Jensen Rinehart, Mikey Pawell, Brent Gray, Brennan

Anderson, Kjell Wolker, Steven Miller, Jack Gorab, Taylor Ross, Blake

Thomsen, Mason Case and Logan Newett all contributed to CdM’s win.
