Olivia Zumwalt, 8, of Huntington Beach, recently finished as the
second runner up in the Pre-teen California Scholarship and
Recognition Program in Bakersfield. Olivia, a third-grader at Hawes
Elementary, competed with 75 other students in a variety of
categories from volunteer service to general knowledge and academic
achievement. As the Junior Division Titleholder second runner-up,
Olivia will be representing California at the 2005 Pre-Teen America
National Competition, which will be held from July 2 to 7 in Baton
Rouge, La. Olivia is now working to raise money for the trip ...
Wings ‘N Things, a Huntington Beach restaurant that specializes in
Buffalo-style chicken wings, is trying to break its record for the
most wings sold for Super Bowl Sunday. The restaurant’s standing
record, set last year, is 32,000 wings sold for one Super Bowl day.
As of today, only 266 wings have been ordered for Super Bowl pick up.
