UCI plays at USC tonight

The UC Irvine men’s basketball team will get its first real test of

the season tonight, when the Anteaters meet host USC for a

nonconference game scheduled for 7:30 at the Sports Arena.

The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net 2.

The Anteaters (1-0) opened with a 106-69 romp over visiting Cal

State Dominguez Hills Saturday.

USC will open its regular season, coming off a 13-15 campaign in

2003-04.

Senior Greg Ethington scored a team-high 22 points for UCI

Saturday, while junior point guard Aaron Fitzgerald added 20 points

and nine assists.

USC defeated UCI, 107-45, in the schools’ last meeting in 1997.

The Trojans, coached by Henry Bibby, feature seniors Errick Craven

and Jeff McMillan, who both averaged 11.1 points last season.
