Artist Peter Max joined with the Wentworth Gallery and the Boys and
Girls Club of Laguna Beach to organize a local art contest for young
artists. The participants were given a variety of media to create
their own artistic version of the lifeguard tower at Laguna’s Main
Beach.
At 4 p.m. today, the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach will host
a reception for Peter Max and the young artists. Each participant in
the contest will receive a signed Peter Max poster and the first
prize winner will receive an original Peter Max work. The Boys and
Girls Club of Laguna Beach will also receive a Peter Max original,
which will be auctioned off and the proceeds donated to the club.
Max is also in town promoting his new exhibit, “Colors of a Better
World,” an exhibit that inspires youth to be creative and seek
positive change. The Boys and Girls Club is at 1085 Laguna Canyon
