Greg Haidl’s get-out-of-jail-free cards have long run out

PAUL JAMES BALDWIN

It didn’t take long for Greg Haidl to mess up again, after having

messed up time after time, apparently with the blessings of the court

system. With the empty threat of bail revocation hanging over his

head, there seem to be no limits for this kid. Daddy [former

Assistant Sheriff Don Haidl] got him the best lawyers who find the

best technicalities and use the best tactics, and Greg Haidl has the

best excuses for his actions and misdeeds.

Greg Haidl allegedly raped an unconscious girl with a pool cue,

got caught with marijuana, had sex with another underage girl, then

while driving, went over the double-yellow line and crashed into

another car. But that’s OK, because the girl wasn’t really

unconscious and was willing, the marijuana was just a little mistake,

the other underage girl enticed him into doing it, and the car crash

was just because he was lost in Santa Ana.

Excuse me? What was that last part? Greg Haidl got lost? He was

driving from Huntington Beach to his daddy’s house in Corona del Mar

and got lost? How stupid do you think we are? The kid grows up in

Newport Beach and supposedly gets lost coming from Huntington Beach.

I don’t think so. I hope Orange County Superior Court Judge Francisco

Briseno doesn’t think so either. It’s about time the judge puts the

brakes on this kid before he hurts someone else. Bail should be

revoked.

Greg Haidl could have had an elevated alcohol level because he had

eaten spicy food, according to his attorneys. Do you suppose this

theory about spicy food is just another of the many legal tactics

that Don Haidl is paying for to keep his son free and perpetuate this

out-of-control and dangerous person on the community?

Poor Greg Haidl is depressed. But I don’t feel sorry for him. I

don’t think he is depressed. Being hospitalized for depression, I

believe, is just another high-priced legal tactic. That is unless, of

course, he can get good legal drugs to keep him placated until

Briseno releases him back into the community and into your

neighborhood.

For those in the community here in Newport Beach who have

previously come to the defense of Greg Haidl, I hope this latest

episode opens your eyes to a clear and present danger that lies

within Greg Haidl. Or to that woman who wrote the Daily Pilot

supporting this kid, I hope you don’t have a daughter who hangs out

with Greg Haidl, and I hope he doesn’t cross a double line while

driving after getting lost in Santa Ana and run into you. But if he

does, at least his dad can afford to get him off again.
