‘Lagunatics’ at Irvine Bowl ready to roll

“Lagunatics,” the whacky musical that is a parody of life in

Laguna and issues that affect those who call Laguna their home will

be performed at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Festival of Arts’

Irvine Bowl, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

The cast features local personalities, politicians and an array of

talent.

“Lagunatics” serves a broad spectrum of subjects with ridiculous

costumes, props and innuendo to the melodies of everything from pop

to opera to Broadway hits.

The show has donated thousands of dollars to charities including

Laguna Shanti, the Laguna Community Clinic, Laguna Playhouse, Laguna

Beach High School Artists’ Theatre, Ballet Pacifica and No Square

Theatre.

‘New Possibilities’ at Wells Fargo

The Festival of Arts’ “New Possibilities in Photography” is now on

exhibit on the 3rd floor at the Wells Fargo Bank. Seven Festival of

Arts exhibiting photographers have been chosen for this show and

include Bill Agee, Rick Ferncase, Spencer Grant, Jennifer Griffiths,

Robert Hansen, Julie Sample and Cliff Wassman.

“The exhibit will run through Oct. 29 at Wells Fargo Bank, 260

Ocean Ave. The building is open to the public Monday through Friday 9

a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.

‘Moveable Feast’ about to hit the streets

The Laguna Playhouse’s 14th annual fundraiser, “A Moveable Feast,”

will be on Oct. 25. The event is a progressive dining experience

featuring 13 dining establishments near the theater.

Attendees begin their experience with a pre-dinner reception at

Tivoli Terrace where they can drink champagne and bid on special

silent auction items.

Next participants will dine on two courses at their choice

restaurant, including: the Cabana Beachside Bar and Grill, Claes,

Five Feet, French 75, Las Brisas, Partners Bistro, Picayo Cuisine of

the Sun, Savoury’s, Sorrento Grille and Martini Bar, Splashes,

Sundried Tomato Cafe, 230 Forest Avenue and Villa Romana Trattoria.

After dining, participants return to Tivoli Terrace for dessert, jazz

and final auction bidding and prize drawings.

This fund raising event benefits the Laguna Playhouse Annual Fund.

Paige Bradley new works to be unveiled

Sculptor Paige Bradley will unveil several new sculptures from 6

to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Forest Avenue Fine Art.

The exhibit will include previously unreleased works. These pieces

include new subject matter such as a mother and child titled “The

Gift,” several works based on couples, self empowerment, yoga, and

mixed media pieces.

The exhibit will run through Nov. 15 at Forest Avenue Fine Art,

220 Forest Ave.

Music workshop for children set

Jazz vocalist and recording artist Carmen Bradford, along with

four instructors who are also leading jazz musicians, will work with

students and share their professional insights during a 3 to 6 p.m.

clinic that will precede an 8 p.m. benefit concert Oct. 23.

Both take will place in the Laguna Beach Artists’ Theater, 625

Park Ave. The workshop’s cost is $5; drop-ins are welcome and parents

may observe at no charge. Concert tickets are $20 and $10 for
