Outdoorsy designs dead ahead

GREER WYLDER
The Territory Ahead just opened at South Coast Plaza. It’s a Santa
Barbara-based clothing company known for its outdoorsy designs for
men and women. The look ranges from casual to urban styles, in rich
colors in trademark fabrics. Originally, Territory Ahead was an
award-winning catalog that journeyed each season to far-away
locations shooting dramatic photographs that complimented its
clothing line. Now its new retail store incorporates props and
seasonal photos from the catalog’s current location. Spring’s catalog
was shot in Spain, so this season’s line features yarn-dyed fabrics,
textured weaves and knits and colorful prints. The Territory Ahead
offers nearly 300 clothing and accessory items. And it also offers an
exclusive collection by Isabella Bird -- contemporary silhouettes in
luxury fabrics. It’s open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, on Level Two at
South Coast Plaza. Call (714) 437-1817 or visit
