CdM boys, girls overpower Tesoro in PCL openers

Corona del Mar High junior J.C. Turner won his first race and
helped lead the Sea Kings’ boys cross country team to a 15-44 Pacific
Coast League victory over Tesoro at Bonita Creek Park, where the CdM
girls also won Thursday.
Turner finished the race in 16:33. CdM took the top five spots.
CdM’s Danny Quinlan (16:51), Kevin Artz (16:52), Blake Dillion
(17:02) and Bo Wiedner (17:07) finished in the top five,
respectively, and Brandon Borcoman (seventh, 17:09) was also in the
top 10.
CdM senior Becky Cummins (18:39) won the girls race, while Keelan
Cuyler (19:16) and Melissa Swigert (20:10) also finished in the top
five.
CdM Coach Bill Sumner’s cross country teams improved to 2-0 in
league.
