A fine place for art

Martin Lawrence Galleries is hosting a world-class exhibit of

modern masters of the 20th Century through Oct. 15. Rare works by

Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Henry Toulouse-Lautrec,

Claude Monet and Pierre-August Renoir are featured. Special showings

include Monet’s “Study for Water Lilies,” oil on canvas from 1922;

Chagall’s “Large Nude with a Basket” oil on canvas from 1955;

Renoir’s “Woman Playing Tambourine” pastel on paper circa 1910; and

Picasso’s “Seated Musketeer” oil on canvas from 1967 and two pencil

teenage girls in ALNM, are for sale. The selection includes formal,

prom, and holiday dresses and a selection of accessories, shoes,

community projects sponsored by the Assistance League, including the
