CITIZEN ACADEMY
The Laguna Beach Police Department will accept applications for
the Citizen Academy. The academy is a 12-week, non-stress course
designed to provide community members with a better understanding of
the Laguna Beach Police Department and to help foster better
communications between police personnel and citizens. The academy
starts Sept. 4 and will meet from 6 to 9:30 p.m. for 12 consecutive

GET ORGANIZED
Local members of the National Assn. of Professional Organizers are
sponsoring a contest to celebrate National “Get Organized Week.” The
winner will receive a free hands-on organizing session with a team of
experts. To enter write a paragraph or two describing your situation
and why you need professional help to tackle it (photos are welcome).

NETWORKING BREAKFAST
The Canyon Lodge/Aliso Creek Inn and the Laguna Beach Chamber of
Commerce will host the August Networking Breakfast. Mike McCaffrey,
author of the book, “Personal Marketing Strategies” and professor at
the UCLA graduate school of Management’s Executive Program, will
speak at the meeting. The breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9

52nd ANNUAL BARGAIN FESTIVAL
Neighborhood Congregational Church will hold its 52nd annual
Bargain Festival from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 340 Saint Anns Drive.

THE LAGUNA BEACH SENIOR CENTER
The Laguna Beach Senior Center in conjunction with Irvine Valley
College Emeritus Programs will offer a variety of courses to the
Laguna Beach Community. Courses will include Tai Chi Ch’uan, physical
fitness, and nutrition The classes are scheduled to begin Aug. 26.
