Lori Fischer of Mission Viejo has been charged with nine counts of
assault with a deadly weapon and nine count of child endangerment after
she allegedly planted razor blades, nails and other sharp objects in 10
local play lots, including Main Beach in Laguna.
Fischer did not plead at her arraignment, said Karen Schatzele, deputy
district attorney. The arraignment was continued to June 21.
The first reported incident of razor blades occurred at Main Beach on
April 27. Fischer, 21, allegedly contacted the Laguna Beach Police
Department before the razors were found, warning that her friends were
headed to Main Beach to “hurt people.” A second incident occurred in
Laguna Niguel and again Fischer contacted police, authorities said.
Fischer was under investigation by authorities when she was arrested
at Vista del Lago Park in Laguna Niguel by Orange County Sheriff deputies
last week.
Earlier that same afternoon, she called Detective Richard White of
Laguna Beach Police Department to tell him that “people” were going to
strike that park later in the week, said Sgt. Jason Kravetz. White
contacted the Sheriff’s deputies, who conducted the arrest.
If convicted, Fischer may be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison.
She remains custody and being held on $500,000 bail.
