Clippers continue hot streak

The Clippers continued on their winning ways in Junior Basketball
League play by beating the Rainbows, 80-56, and the Trailblazers, 84-56.
The wins upped the Clippers’ streak to seven games. They are 7-1 in
league play and 8-1 overall.
Cheyne Martin, the league’s scoring leader, scored 25 points against
the Rainbows and had 31 against the Trailblazers.
Teammates Jonathan Begay and Nathan Pickett scored 38 and 30 points,
respectively, in the wins.
Jeff Clark led the Rainbows (3-5, 3-6) with 30 points, which included
a trio of three-point baskets and seven free throws.
Brain Delino was top scorer for the Trailblazers (1-7, 2-7) with 35
points.
The two wins, coupled with the Blue Devils splitting their last two
games, gave the Clippers sole possession of first place.

Lakers 73, Blue Devils 71
The Lakers (3-5, 3-6) scored an upset overtime win over the Blue
Devils (6-2, 7-2) as Matthew Renault poured in 33 points, including seven
in the extra session. Travis Grogan scored 19 points and Tyler Naylor
added 13.
Blue Devils 70, Rainbows 64
Spencer Harrell pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils.
Harrell and Brendan Finnerty scored a combined 64 and 47 points during
the Blue Devils’ last two game to account for 79% of the team’s scoring.
Three Rainbows scored in double figures as Ian Butters had 24 points,
Jeff Clark scored 20 and Nat Weaver contributed 12. Ty Fleming tied
Butters and Clark for three-point baskets with two and finished with
eight points.
Bruins 88, Trailblazers 72
Bruins 71, Lakers 49
The Bruins (4-4, 4-5) capped an unbeaten week as a balanced scoring
attack featured all players scoring in each game. Christopher Hyden led
the way with total 33 points, Garrett Preston had 29, Sam Palfreyman and
Austin Hyden each had 20, Patrick Curran scored 18, Nick Witte had 17,
Sergio Olamendi had 12, and Clay Knapp scored 10.
The Trailblazers were led by 30 points by Brian Delino, 15 by Brandon
Reed and 14 by Brennan Healy.
Matthew Renault topped the Lakers with 20 points and Travis Grogan
scored 18 against the Bruins.
