WEATHER FORECAST
While June gloom lingers along the coast this week, it should burn off
elsewhere in Newport-Mesa by the late morning today. Highs will approach
80 in Costa Mesa, while Newport Beach’s coastline sticks to the upper
60s. Lows will be in the upper 50s.
Much of the same will be found the rest of the week and into the
weekend, though we’ll enter a cooling trend with highs to reflect as
much.

BOATING FORECAST
Fog will be encountered both early and late. The southwesterly winds
will blow 10 to 15 knots in the inner waters this afternoon, with 2-foot
waves and a west swell of 4 to 6 feet. Winds will ease to 10 knots
tonight.
Out farther, the winds will also blow 10 to 15 knots, with 2-foot
waves and a northwest swell of 6 to 9 feet. The swell will build a tad by
evening.
SURF
We’ll see a slight bump in size today thanks to the latest southwest
swell, so expect chest-high waves, with the occasional head- and
shoulder-high. Friday will drop back into the waist- to chest-high zone.
