Dodgers’ wild finish does in Cardinals

The Dodgers pulled out a wild win by scoring six runs in the bottom of

the sixth inning to stun the Cardinals, 7-6, in the first game of the

second half of Seaview Little League Majors Division play.

Nate Barrett scored the game’s winning run, coming home from second

base on an infield error.

Kenny Miller went two for three, and six other Dodgers had base hits.

The Dodgers also got key defensive stops from Dylan Evans, Zach Campbell

and Kurt Heyer.

The Cardinals had 10 hits, including a home run by Carl Eberts, a

triple by Austin Ravozinni, and doubles by Warren Bliele and Aaron

Amaral.

Lance Lavage made a diving catch of a line drive in the right-field

gap, and Bruno Galindo threw out a runner at first base from his right

field to lead the Cardinals on defense.

Matt Fockler pitched the entire game for the Dodgers, striking out

seven. The Cardinals’ Wesley Lightman also went the distance and struck

out six.

Pirates 3, Angels 2

Matt Seymour capped a Pirates’ rally in the sixth inning with a

game-winning RBI single, his third hit of the game.

Alex Johnson singled twice with an RBI, Kyle Higashioka had two hits,

Matt Bublitz had a single and RBI, and Trevor Robinson and Shawn Watkins

each singled to complete the Pirates’ offense.

Anthony Paterno pitched a complete game for the Pirates with six

strikeouts. He allowed five hits.

Brian Griffin went two for two and scored both Angels’ runs on an RBI

single. Chris Czerniachowski, Billy Sahagan and Wesley raves also had

hits for the Halos.
