TODAY
Get lectured on the arts. The Newport Beach Arts Commission will hold
its first arts lecture, titled “East meets West Through Brush Art,” at 3
p.m. at the Newport Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave., Newport Beach.

SUNDAY
Listen to the music. The Pacific Chorale will present “Hope, Faith,
Life, Love . . .” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Orange County Performing Arts
Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. The concert will include
performances by the Pacific Chorale and the Pacific Chorale Children’s

MONDAY
No strings. Irvine Valley College will present a performance by the
Wind Symphony at 8 p.m. Monday at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, 4242 Campus

TUESDAY
Celebrate poetry. The 6th annual Poetry Festival will be held 7 p.m.
at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. The event, which
includes readings by published authors and students in UC Irvine’s MFA

WEDNESDAY
Do a little karaoke art. “Lee Bul: Live Forever,” an installation by
Korean artist Lee Bul consisting of video and three karaoke booths, will
be exhibited through May 5 at the Orange County Museum of Art, 850 San
Clemente Drive, Newport Beach. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday
through Sunday. $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free for
