The Huntington Beach Community Clinic has hired two new full-time
physicians to increase its staff.
The clinic used funds provided by Measure H and the Orange County
tobacco settlement initiative to hire the physicians.
Miles Masatsugu, a family practice physician, and Patricia Riba, a
pediatrician, are both now on board at the clinic.
“With the addition of these two key physicians, [the clinic] can
provide continuity of care [and] address the ongoing and ever-growing
needs of our patients,” Clinic CEO Jacqueline Cherewick said. “We are
pleased to have them to meet the needs.”
Huntington Beach Community Clinic saw a 22% growth rate during 2001,
with 16,417 patients moving through its doors.
The clinic is a nonprofit organization that has been based in the city
since 1969. It is at 8041 Newman Ave.
