Girls swimming: Sea Kings sweep Artists

CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High freshman Jordan Anae clocked
personal bests and CIF Southern Section qualifying times to win the
200-yard individual medley (2:15.77) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.7),
leading the Sea Kings to a 113-52 Pacific Coast League girls swimming
victory over visiting Laguna Beach Wednesday.
Kim McKay (2:01.43 in the 200 freestyle), Christina Hewko (5:41.87 in
the 500 free) and the 200 free relay quartet of Brittney Bowlus, McKay,
Anae and Vivian Liao (1:43.40) also posted CIF qualifying times for the
winners.
Liao’s winning time of 25.50 in the 50 free was a season best.
CdM improved to 4-1 in league.
The CdM boys posted a 107-60 victory over the Artists, as senior
Sherwin Kim won the 100 free and the 100 breaststroke and was also on two
victorious relays.
The CdM boys finish the regular season 3-2-2, 3-2 in league.
PCL prelims are Tuesday (girls) and Wednesday (boys) at University,
with the finals for both scheduled Friday at 1 p.m.
