Boys and girls track and field: Koreerat and Johnston shine in

Eagles’ loss
IRVINE - Sophomores Nic Koreerat and Jason Johnston doubled for the
Estancia High boys track and field team, but the Eagles lost to Pacific
Coast League host University, 77-57.
The Estancia girls (1-3 in the PCL) also lost, 108-26.
Koreerat won the 200-meter race (24.3) and the triple jump (37-1 1/2),
while Johnston won the 100 high hurdles (17.2) and the 300 intermediate
hurdles (44.5) for the Eagles (2-2 in the PCL).
Estancia senior Mike Casillas, who won the 3,200 (10:31.0), and junior Humberto Rojas, who won the 800 (2:08.2), will compete in the Orange
County Championships at Trabuco Hills High Saturday.
They will be joined by Panfilo Elias, Abel Flores, Abdul Kaiyum, Zack
Novak and Geraldo Orozco.
On the girls side, Jasmine Geider, who earned the Eagles’ lone win
after a 1:02.7 in the 400, will also compete in the OC Championships,
along with her twin sister Hanni, Ludi Valdez and Diana Rosete.
