Girls track and field: Rosete stands out in Cerritos

Estancia High junior Diana Rosete led a steady outing for the
Eagles’ girls track and field team at the Cerritos Invitational at Gahr
High School Saturday.
Rosete finished third in the 3,200-meter race (11:39) and fourth in
the 1,600 (5:31.0), while Judy Hernandez came in sixth in the 3,200
(13:00).
Meanwhile, Ludi Valdez finished fourth in her heat in the 300 hurdles
with a personal-best 51.8, and she also completed a personal best in the
800 (2:30.6) to finish fifth in her heat.
In addition, Valdez helped the 1,600 relay team (Jasmine Geider,
Rosete and Hanni Geider) break the meet record for the open division
(4:17.4), and she contributed to the open 400 meter relay team (Hanni and
Jasmine Geider and Amanda Abbott) finishing fourth (53.5).
Jasmine Geider finished fifth in her heat in the 400 (1:02.8), while
Abbott came in sixth in her field in the triple jump (30-8) and the long
jump (14-5).
