Boys tennis: Mesa handles Eagles, 11-7

COSTA MESA - The Costa Mesa High boys tennis team swept in singles
play and won two doubles sets en route to an 11-7 Pacific Coast League
victory over host and crosstown rival Estancia Thursday.
Seniors Billy Halverson, Spencer Solomon and Cuong Nguyen won three
singles sets each for the Mustangs (1-6, 1-2 in the PCL).
Juniors Louis Valdes and Nikolai Doudtchenko teamed up to sweep in
doubles play for the Eagles (0-3 in league).

Singles - Halverson (CM) def. Glacy, 6-2, def. Chun, 6-3, def. Carr,
6-1; Solomon (CM) won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; C. Nguyen (CM) won, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles - Le-Sneen (CM) lost to Valdes-Doudtchenko, 1-6, def.
Bowling-Cacho, 6-1, def. Nieves-Duarte, 6-2; Thai-Vo/A. Nguyen (CM) lost,
0-6, 3-6, 4-6; McNulty-Gomez (CM) lost, 0-6, 1-6, 3-6.
