Girls track and field: CdM girls victorious

CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High girls track and field
standouts Melissa Swigert and Becky Cummins helped the Sea Kings dominate
the running events and Krisserin Canary was a standout in the field
events to key a 97-43 nonleague victory over visiting St. Joseph
Wednesday.
Swigert won the 200 meters (26.7) and the 400 (1:01.2) and anchored
the victorious 1,600 relay that also included Cummins.
Cummins won the 800 (2:31.9), the 3,200 (12:26) and was second to
teammate Julie Allen in the 1,600.
Canary won the pole vault (10-0) and the shot put (29-0) and was third
in the triple jump (28-11).
Tori Quinlan swept the 100 and 300 hurdles in 19.6 and 53.9,
respectively, while other CdM event winners were Jaclyn Thayer (13.0 in
the 100) and Alison Brawner (5-6 in the high jump).
CdM is 1-0.
