Golf: Bucs third in OEC opener

Fredrik Svanberg of Orange Coast College shot a two-day 147,

followed by teammates Lou Carrasco (148) and Eric Moore (149), as Coach

Barry Wallace’s OCC men’s golf team finished third Wednesday in the

Orange Empire Conference Tee-off Classic at Los Serranos Golf Course in

Chino Hills.

Saddleback, led by medalist Matt Schreirer at 143, won the

season-opening event at 731, followed by Palomar (750), Orange Coast

(757), Riverside (758) and Santiago Canyon (760). Teams played the first

18 holes Monday at Los Serranos. All 10 OEC schools competed.

Kelly Wicks (156) and Go Koyama (160) also scoring for OCC, which

plays in a two-man best ball event next Monday hosted by Victor Valley

College at Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville.
