An innovative proposal for a joint public-school library on the
Mariners Elementary School campus is in the works and officials are
seeking Newport Beach residents’ help in planning the state-of-the-art
facility.
Two town hall meetings are scheduled on the subject. The first will be
held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Vincent Jorgensen Community Center,
adjacent to Mariners Branch Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.
A second meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at Mariners Branch
Library, 2005 Dover Drive. At both meetings, Newport Beach Public Library
and Mariners Elementary School administrators will listen to residents’
ideas on the facility that would replace the current Mariners Branch
Library.
The project would be funded with a grant from the Proposition 14 bond
funds.
