The Art Institute of Los Angeles-Orange County is inviting high school
students to enter two national competitions to win more than $375,000 to
attend the Art Institute’s system of schools nationwide.
High school seniors can enter the National Culinary Scholarship
Cook-off for more than $190,000 in scholarships.
Students have to submit a notebook of information, including a
two-course meal menu, recipes, photographs of each course and a cost
analysis of the menu. They also have to include a descriptive paragraph
on why they want to enter the culinary profession, along with a resume,
transcripts and a letter of recommendation.
The finalists will be invited to regional cook-off competitions.
The National Portfolio Competition seeks out the best high school
talent in the field of graphic design. More than $200,000 in scholarships
will be awarded in this competition.
Students must fill out an application form from the Art Institute’s
Web site (o7 https://www.artinstitutes.edu/pvf7 ) and also send in a
35-millimeter slide with an example of their work.
The deadline for both contests is Feb. 15.
