The third annual Health Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10
a.m. at Oak View Family Center, 17251 Oak Lane, in front of the Oak View
Library.
Festivities will include information booths related to health issues
such as the American Heart Assn., American Lung Assn., Huntington Beach
Police and Fire Departments, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and the
Red Cross to name a few. There will be games, giveaways and tickets to
see the Mighty Ducks hockey team as well as story time and crafts for
children.
More than 2,000 children and families are expected to attend the fair,
which is free to the community. For more information, please call Marino
Minino, the health coordinator at Children’s Bureau, at (714) 596-7066.
The fair is hosted by Oak View Family Center, one of the many
collaborative efforts sponsored by Children’s Bureau, a nonprofit leader
in the prevention and treatment of child abuse. More than 5,000 at-risk
children and their families are served each year throughout Southern
California.
