SPOTLIGHT

THE MEMORY OF ALL THAT

No one may remember the way George Gershwin wore his hat or drank his

tea, but the “Memory of All That” on Saturday at Orange Coast College

will remind people why they can’t take the title of America’s premier

composer away from him.

Raymond Saar (from right), Diane Ketchie and Jordan Bennett will give

their own spin to Gershwin’s works, ranging from his days at Tin Pan

Alley to the jazz-classical fusion of “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Saar and Ketchie, a husband and wife duo with Broadway roots, have

been featured before at OCC, bringing the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber to

life.

Among the song selections for the Gershwin concert are “I Got Rhythm,”

“Fascinating Rhythm,” “A Foggy Day,” “Summertime” and “Strike Up the

Band.”
