Ayso Region 97: Red Dogs offensive attack leads to victory

McKenna Cottam scored four goals to lead the Red Dogs to a 4-2
victory over the Crouching Tigers in an AYSO Region 97 girls under-10
soccer game on Saturday.
Kaitlin Keho and Courtney Francis had assists. Amy Kanotz, Indy
Tamplin and Kendra Mann had solid performances on the field. Chelsea
Barth, DeAnna Patel, Brianna Truxton and Marianne Jones contributed on
defense. Francis and Veronica McLean shared time in net.
In boys under-14 action:
* Rebels 4, Alderete’s Team (Region 120) 0 - Cameron Kilmer (two
goals), David Garrett and Benjamin Pepic scored. Sergio Rodriquez made
key saves to earn the shutout. Brian Wong and Edgar Torres dominated the
midfield.
* Rebels 1, Alderete’s Team (Region 120) 1 - Rodriquez scored the lone
goal for the Rebels. Patrick Vlahakis and Renice Davis also took powerful
shots on goal. Nick Doyle and Wong played aggressive in midfield. Phil
Garrett was solid in net with help from Alex Boullon, Ethan Bartolic and
Jeremy Lewis on defense.
* Fire 4, Stingers (Region 120) 2 - The Fire burned the Stingers with
solid offense from Donny Hunt (2 goals), Nick Hendricks (1 goal) and Luke Sequiera (1 goal). Chris Womble and Hendricks assisted on Hunt’s first
goal early in the game. Nick Weil also had an assist. The defense was led
by Jacob Silverman, Brennan Snow-Czupryk, Jake Liddicotte and Mike
Madison.
In boys under-12 select action:
* Newport Beach 4, Tustin 2 - Brian Siemonsma and Denny Perdomo scored
goals for Newport. Nicholas Sheffield, Wil Reichenstein and Adrian
Buonanoce had assists. Taylor Friend, Robbie Joslin, Robbie Gordon and
Otoniel Garcia led the defense. Goalkeepers Brian Siemonsma, Matt Josyln
and Robbie Gordon made key saves. Newport controlled the midfield with
strong play from Jeremy Anish, Jake Carroll, Jamie Galey, Garrett Heiser
and Calvin Jhunjhnuwala.
In boys under-12 action:
* Forest Monkeys 1, Clowns 0 - Timothy Regan and Richard De St. Jean,
who made a save on a penalty kick, were solid in net to earn the shutout.
Danny Ingalls scored on a pass from Spencer Smith to lead the offensive
attack. Michael Gracia, Tyler Beard, Tommy Hanrahan and Daron Arnold were
strong on defense. Preston Davey played well as sweeper. The midfield was
controlled by Nick Verdugo, Justin Faber and Christian Scott. Taylor
Allee and Vinnie Finn contributed on offense.
In boys under-8 action:
* The Blue Magicians battled the Ripcurls. Nolan Mena (5 goals) and
Ryan Shannon (1 goal) led the Magicians. Tyler Kiehnle and A.J. Lowder
contributed on defense. Kyle Regan and James Littlefair played well on
offense.
* The Destroyers faced the Lightning Bolts. Hamilton Randle scored for
The Destroyers. Teddy Barry, Jack Murrel and Sean Regan made several
shots on goal. Barry also made a save.
In boys under-6 action:
* The Zap-Dragons were on fire against The Blasters. Nick Shallahamer
and Montgomery Faigen led the offense. Midfielders Joey Gregory and Chris
Dinatale moved the ball well. Sean Cox made a key pass to set up the
Zap-Dragons’ final goal, which was scored by Quest Truxton. The
Zap-Dragons earned their fifth win.
