It’s known to help you get your car back on the road, but now it will
also try to help children get back on their feet.
The Automobile Club of Southern California’s Huntington Beach office
is currently asking all Auto Club members to donate money that will go to
help children being treated at Southern California area affiliates of
Orthopedic Hospital for life threatening medical conditions. Huntington
Beach Auto Club members can bring their donations to the office at 16160
Beach Blvd. until the week preceding New Year’s Day.
Orthopedic Hospital treats both children and adults, but all of the
money raised from this program goes directly to the children’s care area
of the hospital. The hospital has offices in Long Beach, Los Angeles,
Bakersfield and at UCLA.
In addition, anyone who makes a donation has the chance to sign a “get
well” card that will be placed on the Auto Club’s Rose float entry
titled, Vacation Time, which celebrates family vacations.
The Auto Club raised $85,000 last year for the hospital’s Southern
California affiliates.
“Our goal this year is $100,000,” said Jerry Kuhn, district manager of
the Huntington Beach Auto Club office.
