YEAR CHURCH ESTABLISHED: 1904. The church is one of the earliest
congregations established in Huntington Beach.
SERVICE TIME: Sunday worship is at 10:15 a.m. Adults and children
gather for worship. Sunday school for all ages meets at 9 a.m.
SENIOR PASTOR: Steve Isenman
PASTORAL STAFF: Don Boger, music director and worship leader
SIZE OF CONGREGATION: Approximately 125 people come to worship each
Sunday.
MAKEUP OF CONGREGATION: Isenman describes the congregation as “a
wonderful mix of loving people of all ages.”
CHILD CARE: Available starting at the 9 a.m. for the Sunday school
hour and continuing through the end of the worship service.
TYPE OF WORSHIP: The worship is Christ-centered with an informal mix
of contemporary and traditional elements that includes praise songs and
hymns woven together by a strong music ministry.
TYPE OF SERMON: Bible-centered and extemporaneous aiming to make the
scriptures speak for today.
RECENT SERMON: Sept. 16, based on Romans 8, “God Is Always with Us.”
Sept. 23, based on Luke 16:1-12, “Lessons from the Children of this Age.”
Sept. 30, based on Luke 16:19-31, “The Story of the Rich Man and Lazarus:
God’s Eternal Concerns for Us.”
VISITOR INFORMATION/HOSPITALITY: Sermon and worship information is
available by calling the church office at 536-3537. The church has
friendly greeters to welcome visitors and a table of information
outdoors, known as the information umbrella. Visitors receive a welcome
phone call and an invitation to lunch at Cocos with the church’s
evangelism leader.
OUTREACH PROGRAMS: Coastline Christian School, preschool and
kindergarten. For more information on the preschool, call 536-1740. On
Wednesday evening a devotional and prayer service is held at 7:30 p.m.
Junior and Senior high school groups meet on Sunday evening from 6 to 8
p.m. Adult Sunday classes meet at 9 a.m. and small groups meet during the
week. The congregation supports a number of missionaries and maintains
regular contact and provided aid to a Mexican orphanage.
CHURCH DESIGN: A comfortable, contemporary sanctuary with beautiful
leaded glass windows and an open, informal worship setting.
MISSION STATEMENT: A Bible believing, Bible teaching, family
oriented,community focused and dynamic worshiping church.
