Readers Repertory Theater will present “The Best of Broadway -- On and
Off” at 7 p.m. today at the Mesa Verde Library, 2969 Mesa Verde Drive,
Costa Mesa.
The production will be staged in recognition of Ban the Book Week,
which is Sept. 21-28. Edith M. Schwartz directs a cast that includes
Marillyn Brame, Katie Bent, Robert Brenton and John Huntington.

La Dolce Vita to honor Cagnolo
Antonio Cagnolo, owner and proprietor of Antontello Ristorante, will
be the guest of honor at the ninth annual La Dolce Vita benefit for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to be held just outside the restaurant at 6
p.m. Sept. 23.
Cagnolo founded the event and will be presented with the La Dolce Vita
Award for his efforts to fight cystic fibrosis. The fund-raiser has
raised more than $700,000 over the years.
The gala will take place on the South Coast Village Green, 1611

The Center to offer youth master classes
The Orange County Performing Arts Center will bring in musicians
including Benny Green, Maria Schneider and Paquito D’Rivera to conduct
free master classes for young performers in the community.
The Masters at The Center series will be held Oct. 5, Oct. 26, Nov.
16, Feb. 1, April 5 and May 3, with different musicians leading 35
advanced high school and college students during each class. Students
will be recommended by their instructors.
Sessions will be held in the Center’s rehearsal studios at 600 Town

Round Table West to hold luncheon Sept. 27
Round Table West will present a luncheon program at noon Sept. 27 at
the Newport Beach County Club, 1600 E. Coast Highway, Newport Beach.
Authors Jayne Meadows, Diana Von Welanetz Wentworth and Debbie
Steinbach will attend. Tickets are $40, and reservations arerequired.
